TikTok Introduces Passkeys for Enhanced Account Security on iPhones

In a bid to enhance user security and combat password theft, TikTok, the popular social media platform, has unveiled its latest feature: passkeys. This cutting-edge technology allows users to sign in to their TikTok accounts using biometric authentication methods such as Touch ID or Face ID on their iPhones, eliminating the need for traditional passwords. By partnering with Apple and leveraging its native implementation of passkeys, TikTok aims to provide a seamless and secure login experience for its users.

Passkeys, built on WebAuthn technology, offer an innovative alternative to conventional passwords by utilizing a device’s authentication capabilities. With passkeys, users can effortlessly access a range of services and platforms, including Gmail, PayPal, and iCloud, by simply activating Face ID on their iPhone, using their Android phone’s fingerprint sensor, or relying on Windows Hello on a PC.

How to enable passkeys on TikTok Account

To enable passkeys on their TikTok accounts, users can follow a few simple steps. Within the app’s settings, they can navigate to the new passkey menu item and select the option to set up a passkey. The process involves tapping “Set up,” followed by clicking “Continue” on the iOS system prompt to save the passkey. Once activated, the passkey will be securely stored in the iCloud Keychain, allowing users to enjoy the convenience of passkey authentication across their other Apple devices.
