How To Craft The Top Gear You Need In Diablo 4 Season 8? – A Step-By-Step Guide By IGGM.com

C

As we all know, entering the endgame and challenging bosses in Diablo 4 is an eternal topic every season, but how to be more confident in winning in the endgame activities and winning more loot? A good gear is naturally essential!

But we all know that the high-level item drops in Diablo 4 are basically based on RNG. If you don’t want boring grinding to completely destroy your life, and don’t want to choose a pay-to-win road that relies on Diablo 4 gold, then the best choice is to craft it!

Here, we will briefly introduce everything about crafting in Diablo 4 Season 8, including the mechanism of the crafting system, how to use it, how to get perfect items, and whether it is worth doing so.

About Crafting & Item Types

First, let’s briefly introduce the basics. We need to unlock all Tempering Recipes by upgrading, reach Torment 1 difficulty through the Pit, and gain access to farming Obducite in the Infernal Hordes before we can craft.

Once we enter Torment 1, Ancestral Legendaries will begin to drop, which are powerful, higher-level versions of existing Legendary and Unique items. They are not a new rarity type, but quality tags applied to existing Diablo 4 items. However, you can fully craft them with Occultist and Blacksmith.

Then there are Uniques and Mythic Uniques, which are also called Uber items, but we can only process these items at Blacksmith.

How To Craft?

Next, let’s take Amulet as an example and look at the specific steps of crafting.

Replace Stats

Occultist is where we start crafting. The first step to do is to turn an unwanted attribute into a useful one, which is done in the fourth tab.

On the left, we can select a property to replace and replace it with one of the options provided in the tooltip. In our case, three options are available: Glass Cannon, Permafrost, or Inner Flames. They all have a value of 2. Here, we choose to remove the maximum life.

Note that, in both Occultist and Blacksmith, after using an item for the first time, you will receive a message that the item is account-bound and can no longer be traded or sold. There is no limit to the number of Tempering attempts here, but the cost will increase each time.

Equipping Aspects

Next, all we have to do is find the right Aspect. In Codex of Power, we can search for Aspects by name or any fragment of its description.

When we recycle unwanted Legendary items from Blacksmith, Aspects are added to Codex, and they accumulate and increase in level during the game.

Tempering

Next, we visit Blacksmith, who can temper it using Tempering Recipes we unlocked when we leveled up. During the tempering process, we can add two stats from two different categories to a Legendary item.

Normally, gear has two categories, but amulets have five. Different types of gear have different categories and stat options, but you can only roll one stat from each category. If you choose another from the same category, it will replace the previous one, no exceptions.

Note that only Ancestral items are worth operating. Because some common items are temporary, they will not stay with you for a long time, so we don’t deliberately pursue the maximum value for them. It will only waste your Diablo 4 gold.

A regular Legendary item has 5 Tempering attempts. But if the item has one Greater Affix, it can be tempered 6 times, two Greater Affixes can be tempered 7 times, and three can be tempered a total of 8 times, covering two stats.

So, our first choice should be the stat category and subcategory where the builds are. Tempering is to let us choose the stat we need from three stats, and after each choice, we need to re-select the category and subcategory.

To be honest, we never understood why the developers didn’t add an obvious feature, which is to reuse the last selected subcategory so that we don’t have to do so many extra clicks. But this is not surprising, after all, Diablo’s interface is always bad and poorly designed.

After each tempering attempt, a window with forging animations and sounds will pop up. You can click to quickly skip and see the results. Each stat has a certain number of tempering attempts, and the number of attempts is displayed in Blacksmith interface and on the item. Each stat has a numerical range and a minimum that can be rolled.

Scrolls of Restoration

Depending on the number of attempts remaining, we decide whether to try to get a better result. If the number of attempts is exhausted and the result is not satisfactory, there is actually a backup option – Scrolls of Restoration. It allows us to make a tempering attempt again.

However, you can only use one Scroll per item. To use it, you need to right-click Scroll to open the item tab, left-click the item, and then we regain a few extra chances to change or improve either of the two stats.

As you might guess, we usually make dozens of attempts on top-level items to get the desired top-level stat. And the drop rate of good equipment itself is very low, maybe this is the price of being a top-level player.

Masterworking

The next stage is Masterworking, which only works on items that already have two tempering stats, but it is very important to know when it is worth doing. Generally speaking, only use it when you are actively playing and have no resource problems. For example, when your gloves have 2 of the 3 top stats, such as attack speed, critical chance or critical damage, and are already close to maximum range.

Each upgrade of Masterworking will improve all 5 item stats by 5%, and every 4th, 8th and 12th upgrade will also improve a random stat by 1 level. If you upgrade the wrong stat, you can also reset it, but this will cost some resources and D4 gold.

Outro

In short, to make a full set of high-level equipment, you not only need to invest a lot of time, but also prepare enough crafting materials and gold. But with your efforts you can get a perfect piece of equipment and play the maximum potential of your build! This is true even for beginners. Remember, the key word here is play, so hurry up and collect materials to start making, I’ll be waiting for you in the game!
