7 Steps to Organically Increase Your Instagram Followers
Increasing the number of Instagram followers you have is no easy task, but it can be done with a little bit of elbow grease and the right mindset.
Contrary to popular belief, there are no shortcuts in life. And while a few lucky folks seem to have been born into all the good things that money could buy, they’re not the norm.
Many folks these days are still working hard towards the same things you are – only they’ve been doing it for a lot longer because if there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that time is money.
You’re going to have to work your way up from the bottom just like everybody else in order to increase your Instagram following.
So stop looking for the easy way out of every situation and get down to business. It’s about time you started taking things seriously!
Step 1: Accept responsibility
Take some time to assess where you are in life. What are your long-term goals? And more importantly, why do you want what you want?
Once you know what you want, it’s easier to see how to get there.
If your goal is simply to increase Instagram followers for the sake of increasing Instagram followers, then this article is not for you.
Having an end goal in mind will help guide everything else that follows below.
Step 2: Stop using bots
Bots are not real Instagram followers. They’re robotic accounts designed to mimic or simulate human behavior in order to get you likes on your pictures, comments on your posts, and more followers.
However, they are easily detectable by the active members of Instagram’s community who can see that these bots are computer-generated.
Stop trying to find hacks that will get your Instagram followers quickly. Long-term growth is key here, not “instant” or “overnight.”
Don’t be fooled by the bots’ promises of quick likes, comments, and more – they’re nothing but a waste of your time and money when you could be using them instead to figure out how to work harder towards your real, long-term goals.
Step 3: Don’t ask for likes
Try not to use words or phrases that would make it seem like you’re asking for attention or followers. This includes calling yourself “#instagood” every chance you get.
Instead of doing this, try to keep it simple with phrases like “uploading” or “posting.”
Step 4: Be consistent
Make sure you’re being consistent in your post times, hashtags, and accounts you follow. This makes it much easier for people to see your profile when they search by hashtag, account, or time.
The last thing you want is for someone to find out right away that you haven’t been posting as often as you claim to.
Step 5: Stop looking for shortcuts
If it sounds too good to be true, then chances are that it is. (That includes things like “increase your followers by 25%” or “gain 100 new followers a day!”)
Stop trying to find shortcuts to social media success. It will not help you achieve your long-term goals, and it’s based on false hope at best.
Step 6: Be more authentic
Start posting things that are actually relevant to your followers’ interests. This is how you’ll start to build a community around yourself – one where people care about what you have to say.
This will also help you start developing your own personal brand/style that people can identify with.
Step 7: Be patient
Don’t be in a rush to increase your Instagram followers just because there are other people out there who have more followers than you do.
Treating this as an arms race will never get you anywhere.
Instead of focusing on how many followers you have right now, start thinking more about all the things that you can do to increase your Instagram following in a slow and steady manner.
This is the only way to grow a following that’s worthwhile and doesn’t make your account look spammy or fake.
